GEORGE SOUTTER

Hollow Vessels

28 x 19 cm, solar print, edition 2/10.

GEORGE SOUTTER

Dr George Soutter is a retired Sydney Paediatrician and print maker. His initial art training was in sculpture with Tom Bass but is a print maker exploring the relatively less toxic solar print processes because of their versatility, accessibility and use of environmentally friendlier materials. He works at the Warringah Print Makers Studio.

He does all of his own printing and works in a small format and in small editions of 10-20 prints. Much of his work is figurative or sculptural which reflects his interest in the art and culture of Africa, China and South East Asia. This has its beginnings in and continues to be sustained by a passion for Bali that extends for over 20 years.

He regularly exhibits in group shows in Sydney and has exhibited in China, Canada, Sweden and the United States of America.
