KATSURAKO HIGANO

A Sunny Day

1990's, Etching, 45 x 59 cm, edition 3/30.

KH: "I want to capture in my art those things I feel in daily life.  Even the most insignificant things can become twisted or blown up so their shape is changed and takes on a solid form.

These forms can be familiar or recollections from a distant past or things never seen before.  Whatever these things may be, they are my alter ego.

I love that process whereby everyday thngs metamorphose.  Sometimes they disappear completely and at other times they change into something totally unexpected.

I am so happy for others to enjoy this process in their own ways."

KATSURAKO HIGANO
